Our 8th graders have been working for months practicing the Stations of the Cross which we will all witness on April 12th. I hope you have the chance to attend. The 8th graders also joined their PREP peers on Friday and received the Sacrament of Confirmation, which is the last of their Sacraments of Initiation. May they continue to be led by the Holy Spirit.
The entire school is supporting our second grade in their Feed 5000 campaign. Canned and other non-perishable goods will be collected over the next few weeks. This has become a tradition here at OLPH, and this year’s class will continue its success with your support.
OLPH students are also joining all the schools in the Trenton Diocese for the Bishop’s Day of Service on May 3. In preparation for this, the children will be creating cards to send prayers of comfort to children in local hospitals. Each class will also create a quilt which will be sent along to share with sick children. Gift cards are being collected to help these families. Please consider sending in a gift card with your child. It has been suggested that pharmacy cards, such as Rite Aid and CVS, be sent. Gift cards to grocery stores or other places where families can get necessities for their children are also welcome. We also have cell phone wallets available for purchase for $2.00 in the school office. If you’d like one please let us know. Many thanks to Mrs. Bianco, Mrs. Dougherty, and Mrs. Spicer for leading this service project.
We have some calendar changes for the end of the year since we did not use all of our emergency closing days.
