School News!

Dear OLPH Community,
It’s hard to believe we are nearly half-way through January! Our students in grades 2-8 are now participating in Phase II of the Renaissance Star Assessment. Since this is the second administration of this assessment it is going very smoothly for our children. There is no preparation needed for this assessment other than assuring your child has a good night’s sleep and providing him or her with a nutritious breakfast. You will receive details about distribution of the parent home report later this month. This assessment is helpful to our teachers because it provides clear information about each student’s areas of growth and areas of weakness. This will allow instruction to be tailored to individual needs.

School will be OPEN on Monday, January 20th. We will participate in a day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy.

Mark your calendars for the weekends January 31st – February 1st and February 7th – 8th to attend a performance of SHREK. The shows are at 7:00 PM each night and 2:00 PM both Saturday afternoons. Our children have been busy preparing for this production.

Any parents or parishioners who attended OLPH as children are asked to join the OLPH Alumni Facebook group. This page will connect you with former classmates and keep you informed of alumni activities. Plans are underway for an OLPH celebration later in the spring.

Thank you for your continued support of our school and your constant prayers for our children and their families.

God Bless,

Cynthia Smith
