Dear Parish Family,
We are taking a break from the Lenten series to use this space to share with you the official start of our Capital Campaign. We have been working hard for over a year to arrive at this moment! Last Spring, we conducted a feasibility study - lots of interviews, focus groups and surveys - to discern what is possible and how to proceed. That all led to preparations and the quiet phase of the campaign during the Fall and Winter. Now it is time to share this endeavor with the whole parish family!
Our campaign focuses on improving and updating our campus. We have three priorities: 1) renew & make accessible Nolan Hall including a new sprinkler system and an elevator that will give our whole community access to the whole church building; 2) complete the work we began a few years ago to refresh our parish offices; and 3) transform our former school (which we will be calling our parish center) into a space that meets our needs. Please take a look at our brochure, which provides much more detail on each of these three areas.
Our Campaign Cabinet, led by our wonderful Co-Chairs: Denise Jasinski & John Gee have been hard at work, reaching out to all parish families - to answer questions, to present the case, and to seek your support for this important and extraordinary fundraising moment in the life of our parish. A Capital Campaign is something that comes along every 15 or 20 years, so we hope and pray that you will be part of its success!
As detailed in the brochure, the total cost of the campaign projects is estimated to range from $1 to $1.4 million. Because of many generous families in our parish, we have already raised over $630,000 in pledges. We have met with over fifty families, held two reception gatherings, and are now ready to set before you this key parish effort. Please prayerfully consider what your household can share from its resources as a pledge over a 3-year period. Yes, these funds will be gathered over the next three years.
Following Masses this weekend and next weekend, Cabinet members will be present at the front doors or in Nolan Hall to share details and answer any questions you may have. Before and after Masses over the next several weeks, folks will be present to help all families make their pledge commitments. In this weekend’s bulletin, you will find a list of everyone who has made a pledge so far. We are excited to see how that list will grow in the coming weeks as we share the campaign with the whole parish, a beautiful community of dedicated & generous folk.
We foresee the end of the campaign this May, 2026, so time is of the essence. I want to thank everyone again who has already made a pledge commitment, and I want to thank you for supporting this important endeavor. We look forward to surpassing our goal!
May God bless you and keep you, now and always!
Fr. Joel Wilson
