The Pastoral Council helps our Pastor in his role as shepherd. We prayerfully discern parish needs, help set pastoral priorities, and empower our members to participate in our mission of Building up the Body of Christ. The Council helps the pastor plan for the future, offers valuable advice and connects us to the greater community. Ideally, a cross section of the parish: younger and older, single and married, different walks of life and experience. We currently have two openings. Email Fr. Joel Wilson, Pastor here to express interest.
Describe your relevant background and tell us why you would be a good fit for the council. Share some of your vision for parish life here at OLPH. Thank you for your consideration!

Fr. Joel Wilson, Pastor - Born and raised in New Jersey, my life has also been full of adventures and travel. From the tip of South America, to eastern Hungary, I love to experience new cultures, foods and traditions, but the people are the best part. The priesthood has been my greatest adventure. Since 2009, I have enjoyed introducing our Faith to others as we deepen our love for the Lord. I have taught in the seminary and sometimes I instruct the men in formation for the diaconate. I love to teach and share our Faith. The outdoors rejuvenates me, whether cycling, backpacking, walking in the woods or just gardening in the backyard. I look forward to sharing the journey with you and to transforming our little corner of the world into the Kingdom of God! |

Michelle Chiosso - I have been a member of OLPH since birth. My husband and I made all our sacraments at OLPH. My children attended OLPH school and made their sacraments there as well. All of our religious milestones took place at our parish, which is why I strongly believe that the legacy be passed on from generation to generation. It is important to me to be a part of making our parish alive and vibrant. My dream is to see all our members actively involved. |

Shannon Fala - I received my sacraments from OLPH as a child. As an adult, I have returned to my home parish to receive what was missing from my life, “my faith”. I also feel privileged to participate in my parish as a 3rd generation parishioner. You will see me in Mass through the ministries of Captain, Hospitality/ Usher and through the slide show presentation. I enjoy meeting others through these many ministries and I am now honored to provide counsel through the pastoral council. In my professional life, I currently work as an administrative assistant in the Wellness Center at Rutgers Camden. Outside of work, I enjoy walks, gardening and spending time with my beloved cat “Felix”. I look forward to

Mike Hoeschele - My wife and I joined the parish in 2023 right before getting married here in October of that year. Since then, I've gotten involved in several ministries: Lector, EM, and Sacred Environment, and have truly felt like we've found our spiritual home. We currently live in Cherry Hill with our son, Jack. Outside of church and navigating life with a baby, I enjoy traveling, gardening, and trying new local beers. I work in sales at Endress + Hauser. I look forward to serving our parish on the Pastoral Council and contributing to Building Up the Body of Christ in our corner of the world! |

Mike Lawler - My wife, Dawn and I, are lifetime OLPH parishioners. I graduated from OLPH in 1972. I come from a large family and all 8 of my brothers and sisters graduated from OLPH as well. We got married in our church in 1986 and both of our children, Michael and Danielle, also attended OLPH. I thoroughly enjoyed coaching the OLPH girls basketball team from 2004 – 2008. I presently participate in several ministries in church including Lector, EM, Hospitality, and Slide Advancer. I have worked for Campbell Soup Company since 1976 and I am a huge Philadelphia sports fan. I also enjoy riding my bicycle and listening to Bruce Springsteen music! Looking forward to contributing to the Pastoral Council and doing whatever I can to keep the parish moving forward. |

Wendy Marano - I have been a member of the parish since 1992. My faith background was Protestant, and I went through the RCIA process at Our Lady of Perpetual Health in 1999. I am married to my husband, Domenic, for almost 31 years. We have three children, Elizabeth 27, Dan 24, and Justine, 16. All three children attended OLPH School and my husband and I have been involved in many ministries over the years including the PreCana team, Lector/Eucharistic Minister (Dom), and Music Ministry (I serve as a cantor.) Being part of OLPH to me means being part of a loving, welcoming community where I can experience God’s love and deepen my faith. I look forward to serving on the Pastoral Council and helping OLPH change and grow as a vibrant parish community. |

Tina Payne - I’ve been a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help since moving to Maple Shade in 1990. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in many different ministries within the parish, including teaching PREP, serving the Homebound, teaching RCIA as needed since 2007, and serving as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. These experiences have deepened my faith and strengthened my connection to our parish community. I’m excited and honored to continue helping guide our parish forward. My faith and family are central to my life. I have 4 children and 8 grandchildren who fill me with sunshine and endless joy. Spending time with them is a blessing that inspires me to live with love and gratitude every day. Outside of church and family, I also have a deep love for my dogs, who bring so much companionship and laughter to my life. They’ve taught me valuable lessons about patience, kindness, and unconditional love, values I strive to embody in all that I do. Our parish and community have always been close to my heart, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and grow alongside such a wonderful faith family. |
